I am apart of many black hat forums, and when I see a digital point account being sold I feel it is my duty to report it.

Mod feel free to Pm me for the thread for more proof. Or just keep a look on the ips while its being sold.

    Regards.

The only reason anybody would but that,, is so they can come to DP and scam us out of our money or our sites..

Shame on the person selling that,, find them and ban them..

It could also be someone pretending to be him. I'm sure it happens, but it would be surprising for someone to actually post their profile link.

You nailed it Rebecca. I could sell a DP account in another forum, an account...let's say...that I call chimpysmith....(an example in thousands)...and boom...

I know, it always makes me wonder. Really, anyone could go to any forum and post a DP account up for sell complete with profile URL just to get someone banned. But, it looks like in this case the mods did agree with op as that DP user is now banned. I actually recognized the screen op posted, and registered to find the original listing. I searched "Digitalpoint account" in that forums search box, and found...

In that picture, I had only scrolled down halfway. So, it looks like there is a lot of DP account selling at that forum.

Hey, there's a lotta ways to kill time on the net. Give the guy credit, reporting an occasional grifter is less of a time-waster than actually moderating a forum.

Thanks. Yes, It is like fishing.

They didn't have to go of the picture, just a simple IP check on the account across 3 days while it was being sold would have been enough proofl

I don't think that's a problem since you've been here since 2006 and don't register on anybody's radar as being problematic.

sadly the account they were trying to sell sucked. itrader of 2....28 posts...not even worth the $10.00 they offered for it. Needless to say DP doesn't tolerate it.

When I was on the BHW forums, I kept noticing threads about people complaining about DP. Then someone said, "Go to DP and complain, I'm tired of seeing people post complaints about how bad DP sucks".
    I don't use BHW anyways....

I thought about it for a while. Both DP and BHW have scammers/spammers and violate use of their accounts. I just stay neutral :D

So we know it's not the IP now.
And it's kind of easy to have multiple emails and sell DP account then, I guess...
Plus, one could have his email hacked, like mine, 2-3 years ago, by some chinese guys, and got it abandoned...
Now, what's the purpose to buy an account, since you could create one easily over and over and over again? Scam someone once and repeat?

Who told you that? There's all sorts of different things we can look at. For example, if someone was a member for a year, and only posted from India, and then all of a sudden one day they change their email address and only post from Australia, there's a good chance it's an account that changed hands (either hacked or sold).

It was not actually. It was another black hat hacking forum. I can't post a link for obvious reasons, but google hacking forum and you'll find it easily.
