    Should we go for SEO if our site is in under construction ? If no, then please let me know the reasons. and in what cases google penalized our site.

    It would be better to develop your site in full shape before plunging into seo as it would show the better side of your site to search engines, especially google.

    dont do that, it is not use at all. You gotta establish your website with good content before you go to offpage seo, google panda are giving much more weight to the content now

    The real purpose for SEO is for search engine ranking with quality content and quality backlinks.

    I am sure a "Under Construction" page doesn't have these two pages.

    After Google rolled out Panda Algorithm, quality content and quality backlinks even get more important. Under Construction page has no value to machine (Google) and to humans.

    you should be structuring your site's architecture around seo. If it is a brand new site then it's a great opportunity to ensure that you have a coherent structure with thought-through internal linking and sub-category pages. Onsite SEO is incredibly important, it's not just all about link building!

    I agree with you. All of the other posters appear to be talking about link-building but optimising the site's structure for SEs should definitely be your priority now!

    You should optimise your site for search engines during construction itself. I meanusing the right keywords and so on... I don't know much of it. After launching your site, start building backlinks and othet things.

    Never start off page SEO if your website is not on page optimized. If you have done on page SEO of one or two pages, then you can start off page SEO for them. And side by side you can design other pages of website.

    SEO not for search engine it is done for search engine as well as for user. So, first complete site development and then start SEO otherwise you not get the benefits of SEO.
