    hi,

    I have tried to find this out before but had no answers.

    is there anyone to speed up when google rechecks a site to update a title or description etc for the serps?

    any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Build some new links. If you go to digg.com or technorati or some high PR bookmark site and bookmark your site, Google will spider the bookmark back to your page and update your description more quickly.

    completely agree with this... this is the only you can get google to crawl your site as these high PR sites are crawled more frequently than our personal sites..

    You can also try tweeting the URL with a few different Twitter accounts. Google has said they use Twitter to find new links/content, but it is possible that if they see a link tweeted by multiple users they might go and re-crawl the page even if they have been there before.

    Just generate sitemap and submit it to Google Webmaster, it is the fastest way. I got it in same day. But make sure your sitemap is easy for google to crawl.
