I have a rather new client website at http://www.seawitchantiques.com. The site represents a small Antiques and Collectibles dealer near Topsail Island North Carolina. The focus is for SEO generated traffic. I value your opinions and comments. Thanks in advance,
Hiya Michael, did you do this site? If so you have done a great job of trying to spam the search engines. What is all that hidden text on the welcome splash page about? Same colour text on background is a sure fire way to pick up a penalty. There really is no need for it, and the first page is way too controling with that auto redirect/refresh thing going on. Pull it apart, and start again I say. Put the text yoiu want up there for both the viewer and the Spiders. Hell it's not like your shooting at a great big competitive keyword phrase. The phrases your shooting at a re a walk in the park. No reason to spam, least of all with this site. Sorry to be so blunt but you did ask, and I would rather you dislike me and get your site sorted, than like me for telling you its great when it ain't OWG
Hi OWG, Please do not feel that being honest would put me off. This was my first attempt at SEO which has driven a bit of traffic to the site. As you say, there is a much better way. I appreciate your statements and have every intent to modify accordingly. As for others reading this post, I would also appreciate other comments for me to consider when I redo the site as well. Again thanks and never feel like being up front with me is a bad thing!
OWG, Per your post, I have made multiple changes and have improved in the rankings as a result. Thanks!
all looks good to me. the site is user-friendly and easy to navigate. The header has the "antiques" feeling ...great job !
Hi this is a non SEO comment because I'm just a simple man not some SEO clever chap but I do know loads about Spending my own money on stuff lol I think you should do more to for the shopper, remember these guys are into antiques so they are into information and history, I would have more information about the different manufacturers for example on your home page you have a plate made by Royal Bassett in England, If I'm into antiques I should be able to click on something to learn a little more about Royal Bassett, I would also suggest you write more content on the actual items. This is just my opinion, I do not buy antiques however I have spent far too much time watching antique related tv shows. Just my 2c Thanks Dave
you should feature some "products of the month" on the home page because it doesn't initially look like an ecommerce site
Overall a nice impressive website but do not limit yourself copy paste the widget codes on the footer.Be creative.
Website Design Look and feel is the basic constraint which should be taken care firstly. Website design needs to be improved. Fresh Content for pages Need to add quality content so that pages can be indexed well.
