What is the BEST Off-Page SEO for my budget?

    Hi guys,
I'm working really hard to rank in the top #3 on Google for some difficult/ competitive keywords and I'm on a limited budget. So far, I've done directory submissions, TONS of on-page SEO, article submissions, press releases and tons of marketing on facebook and twitter as well as youtube. I've applied all the traditional SEO tactics as far as On-page stuff goes but I need to find some SOLID off-page SEO that is in my VERY limited budget.

I need to rank well for the keywords:
    1. Buy hCG
    2. Order hCG
    3. Buy hCG Drops
    4. Buy hCG online
    5. Order hCG drops
    6. Order hCG online
    7. human chorionic gonadotropin
    8. human chorionic gonadotropin drops
    9. human chorionic gonadotropin diet
    10. hCG diet
    11. the hCG diet

Anything related to the hCG diet is very tough to rank for but I've got a few good terms starting to take-hold in rankings.

I've submitted to a few thousand directories over the last few months and used paid directory submissions as well.

If it was your site and you had done everything in your power to rank well, where would you focus your SEO efforts and budget?

Oh, I also add to my hCG blog regularly and focus on on-page SEO. Need help!

Can you clarify how tight your tight budget is. I do some pretty effective SEO that is a lot cheaper than the SEO firms but I need to know what you could actually afford.

Well, I can see that you're missing something. You might also try social bookmarking. It is also one of the most effective methods.

    Okay, thanks guys!
    Here's where we're at now:
I'm running a wordpress based site for our hCG store and have added SEO plugins, etc.
I've used WebCEO to optimize everything and I've submitted to around 7,500 directories now.

I've also done some article submissions and have done quite a bit of social networking promotion on:
Facebook - Facebook hCG diet page
Twitter - Twitter hCG drops page

    Here are our rankings (currently):
Order hCG online - #11 of 5,650,000 results.
    Order hCG - #18 of 7,740,000 sites.
Buy hCG online - #33 of 7,470,000 sites
    Buy hCG - #50 of 9,630,000 sites

I have an hCG Diet forum set up that gets a pretty good amount of traffic and also have an hCG diet channel on Youtube. My hCG diet video currently ranks #4 on YouTube out of 14,900 videos titled, "The hCG Diet".

I'm not really sure how blog commenting works for SEO but do have an hCG diet blog set up that seems to get a little traffic.

I'm trying to do this all on my own and am on a VERY tight budget so I'm trying to figure out what I need to focus my efforts on. The hCG Diet is a very competitive niche right now and there are people competing who have a LOT of money to spend on SEO.

As far as my budget goes, this is my ONLY source of income. I work around 14-16 hours/ day, 7 days/ week on this site including promoting it at events, trade shows, MMA fights, gyms, etc. I have the ability to borrow money if necessary but I'd have to know it will generate results and get me to the top #3 results on Google.

I have a health and fitness directory that pays around $50 per month that I currently spend on directory submissions, etc. and I sell quite a bit of hCG on craigslist and another classifieds site but I re-invest everything except what I have to spend on food back into the site.

So I'm trying to figure out what to do and how much it will cost to put my site on TOP of Google.

I would use some tools to see what my competitors are doing and getting links from. You don't want to follow everything they are doing but if they are ranking higher then you then they are doing something right. It'll bring you closer to their level and then you can focus on what you need to do to get past them. From there you can go above and beyond what they are doing.

Like the Web CEO rank tool? How else would I use that besides contacting the sites that link to them for link exchange? (which I currently am doing).

budget never pay the cheap ones rarely work and if they do they are full of spam just do it your self manually. Articles write 500 words and submit it up to 5-10 sties. Forum and blog comments really work make sure if possiable they are related to your site. Do a facebook fan page and update content daily if possiable. Click on other people likes. Directory submissions, Socialbookmarking. Main thing is never give up seo is a ongoing learning and doing process.

There's plenty of tools out there to check backlinks. Missinglink is correct in my opinion. Those guys offering cheap SEO and have nothing to back up that they are offering (portfolio) are a waste of money.

Good to know on the directory submissions! I'm doing article submissions (typically 500 - 800 words at 5% - 8% keyword density) and submitting them to press release sites and article directories. The hCG Diet facebook fan page currently has around 4,200 "likes" in the first couple of months.

How would you recommend that I do blog comments?

I'm getting off topic here but....

Be the source for information on that product. I would be willing to bet most people in that market for your type of product are doing a lot of research about the product to see if they believe it works. And also focus on conversions and analytics. The whole point of SEO is to get more visitors to your site, but if someone has a site with a ton of traffic and the visitors don't have confidence in the site or feel it's a good deal overall then they will never order.

I post all kinds of articles about the proper mixing of hCG as well as all kinds of medical references. I've got pics with athletes and users of our hCG product as well as hCG testimonials.

Is there anything you'd recommend that I change to make the site look better?

I would build out more pages. The blog is great information but that's just one part of the site. Have a testimonial page, a before and after page, a medical information section or page, and as many more pages as possible. Those are ones I came up with in two seconds but you know the product much better then me so I'm sure you can think of many other pages to create. Content is king though. I can't think of a site out there that I consider "the source" for information that doesn't have a ton of pages, content, and information as well as, at least, a decently looking site.

I'm a front end graphics guy so I'm picky but I can't say I'm in love with your logo. I would put more pictures on the rest of the static pages as well. Maybe a rotating banner...

I get paid for this stuff so I could talk all day but unfortunately time to get back to my work. Good luck!

Alright, thanks for the help. I actually do have an hCG Diet testimonials page as well. As far as medical information, I have an hCG comparison page too.

I'm doing everything humanly possible to add valuable content, but I need SOMETHING to put it over the top. What services do you recommend? (And how much do I have to spend?)
