You can put a max of 3-5 but if you are going to fill your title with a lot of keywords then it won't leave a good impression on your readers so, try to focus on fewer number of keywords. the same rule applies for meta keywords. also, if your site is new then do some keyword research first before start working on your keywords.

Totally agree with this. Repeating too many keyword in title may blame you keyword stuffing.

stuffing too many keywords in title or content would generally reduce the quality of the content. It's good to maintain a keyword density between 2 and 6.

Well, you should make the title in such a way so as to include as many keywords chosen by you and not exceeding the maximum of 80 characters. Also you should not stuff the title with all keywords as it will look spammy

ONE keyword for the title tag and upto TWO keywords for description tags. Don't push these limits. You can read more about this here - onpage seo.

I think you should use only best 2-3 keywords in the Title Tag. Also, title tag should not like a keyword spam. The best way to choose keywords for title is, first make a list of best keywords. Mix the keywords and use a valuable title.

Typically I will target a primary key phrase and a secondary key phrase in the title while keeping the total number of words in the title under 12.

Authority websites links, relevant but Quality links are the best ways to seo rank well and early. Content base marketing is best for this.

The title of the website should be your main keyword, the content of your website should hit up all your other keywords along with your primary one! Too many keywords could result in Google marking you as spam but this is EXTREMELY hard to do so I would not worry about it.

If your site is targeted for a single word or 2 word keyword phrase, I wouldn't stuff the title. I would do a search and try to find a popular keyword phrase ( a string of 4-5 words) and include that in the title. Have your keyword up front within the first characters. This will make sure that it is seen by the spiders.
This isn't the best example, but, for instance "weight loss" and "best weight loss diet". I would make the title "weight loss best diet". That is if you are optimizing for "weight loss". The title has the keyword up front. It makes sense when you read it. And, you may rank for both the short and longer phrase. But it doesn't look like it's out of place.

But, this is only my opinion.
