    I'd like to hear what the guru's of DigiPoint have to say about a Social Networking website myself, and another student at my school have developed. The site has received nearly 1,000 members it's first few days of being up, and that number is increasing at a respectable rate.

    The site is called The SocialCork, it is a social networking site that focuses on connecting users around the world together based on common interests, while simultaneously providing an environment to stay connected with friends/family. It's essentially the opposite of what Facebook does.

    The site is very new, and there's a ton of features we're still developing, but for the most part - it's base has been developed.

    Wow, always been interested in developing a website like this.

    Looks great, love the feel of it. Though I do not like the thought of a "global" wall. It's going to get basically useless once you hit 200k active members daily.

    I have a Facebook, though I've always despised it and wanted to create something better.

    Great start, will def. bookmark it and check back in on the progress. I really hope for your sake that it gets off the ground. Don't let it fail.

    First off, thanks everyone for the replies!

    As for the 200k users, we've actually taken this into consideration with the global wall. We will be introducing what we call "Filters" soon, that will allow you to select the types of global posts you want to see on your global wall. Maybe you only want to see posts talking about sports and a specific celebrity, you will be able to do that. Or maybe, you want to only see posts from users based on their geographical location, that's also possible. We're planning on making the global wall a customizable stream of posts and information that only shows content relating to what you want to see.

    Hello, great website. I like the feel of the website. Even though I'm not nowhere in your community, I can feel the mutual setting it has. Like, with facebook, people you don't even know from over seas adds you and you're like..ok. But with this one, it's more friendly as I should put it. You're one year younger than me so it's good to see people around my age trying to think big!

    Hey man, great concept. One thing I would comment about though: the site's logo needs to be updated to something that looks totally professional and soon. Trust me, people will be a lot more comfortable signing up for something that looks expensive to make ;)

    That's a great idea, let me know how that goes. Keep us updated as to when certain things go live.

    So, did you guys hard code the website yourself, or did you use templates? Just one coder to another.

    Well, it looks nice, but I think you should provide some more info, or some pictures and so on. If people can see something and browse a bit without registration you'll get more visitors and possibly a members. Keep up the good work and all the best :)
