    I would like to say Digital Point Forum is so great! You know it includes different kinds of information here and provide users the freedom of talking with each other.
    It is not a long time that I have been in this forum. While I am really shocked by its high traffic, You see, the Alexa Rank can be 189. It is not common for a forum to get such a high fame! I do want to know why this? How is its traffic so high? Any nice points to this question? Thanks in advance! :):confused:

    I think it was a smart move to require that members make at least 25 posts before posting in the BST section. Otherwise, some questions would just go unanswered.

    http://tools.digitalpoint.com/tracker.php was one of the main reasons the whole forum was started... 100,000 or so registered users just for that tool (and it's been around since before the forum was started).

    There's also a lot of unique ideas we've had over the years... we were the ones that invented the whole concept of AdSense revenue sharing (we were the first to have it and the ones that originally had the idea... of course many copied it since).

    I think the SEO has a lot to do with it too. When you're searching for any computer/SEO/marketing related question on search engines, DP always comes up in the first places.

    I have to be completely agree with Guisbar.

    It really has to do something big with Google. The Big G Simply loves DP and DP just outranks everyone else for any given term that exists here. Shawn has hit the nail on the absolutely perfect spot in doing SEO - I wish I could have hired him for my website. :p

    It started with Shawn's custom made tracker tool, then it took a huge leap with revenue system. A lot of people joined and started discussions for earning some income while discussion your favorite topics. It became the #1 webmaster forum, and since then it is now. Some other forums have started to gain popularity now but DP is not loosing its popularity so quickly. ( I saw Alexa 181 to alexa 190 in last few months )

    Admin listens to suggestions, shows them he is not interested, but, work on some of them he thinks are useful. I have never seen before such a forum on vbulletin as much customized as DP is. so many features of this forum are custom-made. and I like this forum over other webmaster forums mainly due to its cool design and navigation.

    Maybe not. Look for the "PM sent" type of messages that generally server for driving post count up to the required 25. In my opinion, this does not currently help too much keeping this place clean. It drives a few scammers away but those who don't mind spending some time posting useless messages to just qualify for posting in the BST section will just take some time to reach the required level. Nothing special about it.

    Digitalpoint became popular because of the tools that it offered.

    Initially, there were many real SEO and marketing experts using DP forum and that made the forum very popular.

    Over the years, the forum has lost most of those experts and even those who remain, don't share much of their expertise. Most of the active users are either newbies or mid-level webmasters.

    Today the forum is popular because of its marketplace. Out of the 2 million threads that DP has, 1 million are in the BST section.

    Wow 2 million threads...:D.

    I means something called spam aka posting for the sake of posting .

    DigitalPoint is popular for the number of reasons this days :
    The number of experts and information floating around
    The gargantuan market , although that seems to be shrinking in the last months .
    The fun factor
    Shawn's tools ?
    The huge number of noobs looking for AdSense sharing .
    The number of scammers that love it

    Oh yeah... I forgot about the Google part. lol

    Google's Panda update isn't really relevant, but I happen to have an image handy that shows how much traffic Google sends each day before and after Panda...

    We get more traffic since Panda, but more importantly, Google sends us more than 1 unique visitor every second from organic search...

    It probably doesn't hurt that digitalpoint.com has ~10M natural links (never any paid links and never any link exchanges)...

    Amazing Traffic stats and btw till now i had no idea about the adsence revenue share system and just check it and now its no more ):

    And digitalpoint has alot of traffic because webmasters want to find the solution to their problems so that they can make their website better and digitalpoint is the only best source where people can have their issues solved
