I have tried it. It takes a while to get used to it now that some of the menu have been moved around. One advantage that IE7 has over the older version is that it is faster.

I thank everyone for their input -- I'll wait a while prior to downloading ;)

    I like Firefox :)

Its an improvement over IE6, but I still don't like it. Firefox's layout seems more user-friendly to me..

Wow! IE 5! :) . What Windows version do you use? IE 7 only works in XP SP2 and Vista.

If you have a legal copy of windows then also you need to validate it....
There is option on microsoft site to do that...
You need to download a small application from their site and run it...it will validate your copy of windows, and give you a string....you need to put that string on microsoft site in the input box....

After you have validated your copy, your download will start!

Not worth it - all it does is cause you to dig through windows and tabs.

I ended up doing a system restore.

I use and love firefox :) Was tempted to try out IE7, but after reading through this thread, I probably won't for a while.

I am using IE7 for a while now and I like it. It's better than IE6. The only bad thing I am facing is high memory usage. When I have 10+ tabs open, the memory usage goes up to 100-200 MB. Other than that, I love it. :)

jeez, with 10 tabs I think any browser would do that!!

I used Opera for a long time b/c FF treated me badly in that respect (still does at times).

Sometimes I have only one tab (window) open and the memory usage is still high (at 100 MB) for some reason.

I agree. That's the only negative point I see to FF. I really love it... except for the huge amount of memory it uses :(

I believe remembering that pre - 1.5 FF versions managed better the memory...

IE will never compare to Firefox, the usability and security of IE does not stand against firefox.

IE developers just dont seem to understand internet users, internet users want safe, fast and easy usability. They just seem unable to deliver those goods unlike Firefox does.

Well, the main security issue of IE 4 and later versions is that is fully integrated within the OS. In other words, it's a part of the Operating System. This is a huge security hole that will never be patched. It's impossible because of it's nature! While you're surfing the web with IE, you are exposing publicly an important part of your OS.

FF and Opera are independent programs. They're not part of the OS. That's one of the many reasons because I choose FF (or Opera, very good too).
