Yes, we need the details on what you are looking for. Basiclly the question seems not to be so clear. Anyhow for local listings, you might try the local google site. e.g google dot co dot uk.

Check for the keywords that you have used while submitting the local posting.

You submit by category, not keyword. I don't know how this is relevant.

I think you're way off. The PageRank indicator on the Toolbar is a strength measure from 1 - 10. In my case it's 0, meaning either that I use blackhat tactics or I lack backlinks (both of which aren't true). It has nothing to do with your listings on Google Places.

For me I have found this a great tool/add on for firefox: http://www.redflymarketing.com/internet-marketing-tools/google-global/ It changes the location search instantly and can even be set by ip/zip/postcode/name to a specific town or city. If you're using the net for business you gotta be using firefox for the sheer number of add-ons that become invaluable daily.
Dont forget to cleart your cookies each day if you want an accurate search result or google will list the sites you visit most (probably your own) higher.

Hm, interesting tool for geo-targeted SERP monitoring. Thanks!

Also, if you go into Private Mode in Firefox, doesn't this eliminate the need to clear your cookies?

True private browsing does eliminate cookie storage, however it also eliminates history etc and if you are looking at a number of sites in a sector and dont want to waste time looking at the same site twice having history enabled showing visited sites as purple instead of blue is a great timesaver.

Results are not static in these searches in the same way they are in organic results. Google places revolves the listings so expect to see varied results.
