    Hello all,
    I have a doubt.
before some time I linked my card to my PayPal account to buy a product
as soon as the purchase was done I removed my card from my account
now the seller tells he cannot give me the product so want to refund my money
so now I do not have my card linked in my account anymore(as i stated above i removed my card as soon as the purchase was done)
    my doubt:
where will the refund go? 1. PayPal balance or 2. CC
if answer is CC then I want the money back to my PayPal balance so what to do?(i do not want to link my card for online purchases anymore)
    please help me
    thanks:)

You used your card to buy the product or your PayPal account?

If you used your PayPal account the refund will go to the PayPal account. If you want to withdraw it to your card you will have to add the card to the PayPal account again.
If you paid with your card the refund will go to your card.

First, your request should clear the refund, it will go to Paypal balance if the refund is made.

Yes, it would go to your PayPal balance only. :)

    I doubt he is not!
i have been in a similar situation lately and the balance will most likely end up in his CC if the purchase was made through CC
on the other hand if the purchase was made through PayPal balance then it would end up in PayPal account

*If you have an Indian paypal account then you most likely used CC to purchase the said item and in this case the refund will show in your CC

You are wrong boy. A refund will always come to PayPal balance no matter from where it is sent.

With all respect Shubham, please correct your knowledge as you are being wrong here. :)

A refund goes to the the originating payment method. If the refund is from Paypal balance, it will reflect in Paypal balance. If the origin of funds was from Credit Card, the refund will go to Credit Card - although it will take some time to reflect the refund in CC.

To further clear it, even suppose you had done a $100 payment where $75 was taken from your balance and $25 was from CC. If the refund arrives, you will see $75 in Paypal balance and rest of the funds in CC.

Well, I have read that only on several forums that refund comes to paypal only and not CC. Thats why I said it.
    Never experienced it although. :(

    Shame on you!
i have clearly quoted in the above thread that "i have been in a similar situation" but still you keep poking your nose based on your so called readings
you can't compare readings with someone who has real life experience. now, i am attaching the proof in this thread to give you a chance to improve your knowledge

In this first picture you can see that i have sent payment to someone and then got refund from him:

this pic will show you that i have used CC to make the payment:

and now the final pic which will show you that the refund will go to my CC and not in my PP balance

    FAIL

Edit ::: Since he is failed now, he gave me -5 rep lol
and mind your language Mr. Looser:::
this is what he put in the negative rep comment for me >> Shut the fuck up ~ Digital_shubhi

    @SSC,
I agree that Shubham may have been un-aware of the actual policies but honestly, I ain't in favor of your reaction much also. Basically, all we peoples gather here to share the knowledge we thing we've got and nobody is getting paid for his/her answers so honestly, it's nothing to blame anyone. He said what he knew with best of his knowledge and most important, he apologized upon realizing the actual fact. So in my opinion, there really is not need to throw harsh words like this. :)

I too cleared Shubhi's confusion but at least the wordings should be polite. I got green rep from him for my that post and I would've been returning it also if I wasn't empty of my rep quota for the day. So all in all, it's not WHAT you say, but HOW you say it does matter. :)

It's related to expired date of CC.
