    yes,directory submission is one of the off page activity and it is useful to get traffic and backlinks but submit your site in high PR directories.

    As per my work experience I can say, directories has value in SEO because, the directories help to increase your keyword rank in search engine....but it cant help to increase your traffic...........

    99% of directories are not important...only good ones are important...DMOZ is the most important! Don't waste your time submitting to directories! Just submit your site to top 50-100 and that's it!
