How to change hosting and domain name without loosing traffic -Wordpress

    Hi everyone,
    I have a site setup at free hosting at technoblogger.koolserve.com
    Now i bought a new domain and want to change hosting too...

    How can i move my site to new hosting do i have to copy all the wp content and wp includes all those files to a new host or ll i have to set up wordpress in the new host and update my database

    What are the steps to follow while moving your site to another hosting....

    Your going to lose some traffic at some point no matter what you do really, but as already stated to minimize the impact of the change over use a 301 redirect from the old domain to the new domain, obviously make sure the new site is ready to go before setting up the redirect.

    I would even put in redirects for inner pages to where possiable, if there are way to many to do them all atleast do your most used landing pages.

    Depends on the site, if its simple html files just copy them over. But if its database driven you will need to make a backup of that also and import that too.

    My site is wordpress driven that means i have to copy wp-contnt wp-includes and all the other folders to the new host...Is that right?
