Directory Contest - looking for sponsors!

Jamey from Bloggeries and I have come up with a contest and are looking for additional sponsors. If you are interested, PM me and I will tell you more.
The contest will be about directories showing off which ones benefit the sites listed the most.

The contest will last 3 months and will determine which directory is the most effective one towards the websites it lists. I will announce the official website of the contest soon and reveal what directory owners have to do to win the prize and the glory.

I don't mean to rain on your parade, but won't this be a bias contest?

Many or most webmasters view or take into account 3 major things when determining if a directory is worthwhile submitting to:

1. Pagerank
2. Seo Friendly
3. Traffic

I wouldn't mind sponsoring a contest like this, but I would like to give you some more input on more equal approach.

Right now the sponsors will have a section on my forum www.frogengine.com/forum and we are discussing the contest. The ideas are laid out and they're great

The contest will be announced on November 1st. It will run for 3 months. It will also show us which directories are really the strongest. It will be the battle of the Titans.

Why not add a few conditions like these -
It must be a free directory.
Must have some pagerank.
Must be free of ads.
Design must be unique.
Obviously it'll be SEO friendly.....

 

Actually, what we will do is find out which directory really benefits the sites listed, regardless whether they are free or paid.

I'd be interested if Strongest Brands weren't so brand new. Maybe in a year or so.

BTW, how in the world do you plan to measure the SEO benefit of a listing in any given directory for the listed site? How will you know whether a search engine values a directory as an authority site (good trust) or sees it as a link farm (and discounts their links)?

How do you compare traditional directories (home page/domain links only) versus deep link directories? Seems like apples and oranges to me.

 

Mike and I have been working out the details of the contest, and have come up with a VERY nice plan for it. I know he will be releasing the information on how the contest will be run soon. I can assure you, this contest will most definitely demonstrate to everyone which participating directories can provide both traffic, and strong backlinks for the sites listed in them.
