Tag Clouds - Good or Bad?

I looking for a new way to incorporate some keywords/phrases on to my homepage.

What is the general consensus on tag-clouds? good or bad?

Tag clouds are important, I got some traffic from Google directly to my tag clouds. They are really useful.

 

I have never seen them drive much traffic, but some people may have different experiences with them. Personally I would not spend a lot of time creating them, because I believe over time the search engines will begin to value them less and less since there is very little unique content on them.

 

tag clouding is very important for any website. You can also use tag for categories mapping.

 

I personally am not much of a believer .

 

Tag clouds are the word content of a site used to describe the content of the websites.So,It is beneficial to get more traffic.

 

My perception on tag clouds, it just help to increase the blog pages and I don't see any good points in how would that benefit in doing SEO, it surely help the users but not sure in optimizing for SE.

 

I always wondered about this. I always use tagclouds on my autoblogs, but I'm still wondering if there aren't any better alternatives??? I have always doubted them!

 

Tag clouds may drive a little traffic to your site. So why leave the chance? It's not totally worthless at all.

 

I always thought tag clouds were only good for people who visit your site daily. They can see your trending topics with it

 

Tag clouds are useful if you use clouds with "text". In many cases nice shiny flash tag cloudsare used. Search engines cant read flash. Use text version only!

 

I think tag clouds look spammy. But I still like creating tags for posts.

are there different extensions for tag clouds for different cms systems like joomla? is so i would still need to find out where i could spare space to put them. i think they just fill up an empty site and add a bit of a dynamic look to it, doubt they have seo value

 

tags are the most important thing in your content whatever you have published anywhere , tag's are the keyword which helps in search for the word's which you have used in your tag's. So they are really important .

 

Surely something as simple as a tag cloud isn't going to affect SEO? If it did wouldn't every man and his dog be using them? IMHO they are about as useful as meta keywords in terms of SEO

 

I did not used tag cloud in my website. I don't have much idea about using tag cloud. I will try to know about tag cloud
