    Hello,

    I am new in the field of SEO & I don't have enough knowledge about this field. So I want to know that for doing On Page Optimization for a website Keyword research is most important, so how can I start with keyword research and what are the guidelines I should follow while doing this? Kindly suggest me the proper softwares or sites which will be helpful for me in keyword research and tell the entire process :)

    Use Google Adword Keyword research tool. You can search with the main keyword(s) or the targeted website's URL. You will get the competition Vs. Global & Local search results. You can also use the advance option for the specific country & language.

    If you are willing to spend some money for this purpose, then I will suggest you to be a paid member of Lynda.com and watch their great tutorials. If you do not want to spend any money then search in this forum and Google. You will get tons of resources of keyword research.

    Do the initial research with the Google Keyword Tool and then go to the free version of Traffic Travis. It has a section that gives a difficulty ranking for a specific keyword. It can be a little time consuming, but you will know which keywords to target and get a good ranking on Page 1.
