• Traffic is king. Always work for your website and visitors and not for AdSense. Create unique and great content that users find valuable and traffic will increase. With increasing traffic your AdSense earnings will increase. The golden rule is more traffic equals more revenue. But how much more depends on your Optimization!
• Don't cheat! Don't try to game the system. You are not hurting Google you are hurting the advertisers if you try to cheat the system. And believe me, google is like a mother animal that protects its children (the advertisers) when it comes to click fraud! So don't do anything stupid that will jeopardize your AdSense account.
• Be patient. For some changes it takes longer to see effects then for others. Also AdSense is known for its unpredictable fluctuations. So if you run tests make sure you base your final decision on enough ad impressions and a sufficient time frame.
