You might want to do a little better on the design man, or hire an expert to do it for you. It doesn`t look very profesional.

I think it looks alright tbh, only a problem is the background image seems to repeat and looks odd when it tries over lapping, i would get rid of it.

Bare in mind the design doesn't need to be that great because of the target market, i also have a mini bird house site.

You need to attractive header banner and menu.
You need to attractive social media icon and attractive footer now its very thin.
Need h1 tag at page and Need icon for blog shop forum etc..

Like everyone else said. Hire someone who can actually design a professional site.
With that look, the site will not go that far.

Seriously? Then it's time to change that professional.

It's nowhere near to professional work however good for an amateur one.

I Think in the first step you need a designer. Designer will modify your web site seo friendly then use unique and quality content, Link optimization, Heading Tag etc.

1.well the website isn't bad but it doesn't look like the work of a pro . contrary to what most people have said here you don't have to be a pro to make your website look like it was made by a pro. first thing i noticed with the website is that the categories / items on the menubar is too long , all you need is about 5 items : home, forum , blog , shop , birds (create a drop down list here that would have all the birds instead of creating a menu item for each bird , this would make it look shorter and more presentable ) , cages , videos , about (these days terms fall under about us so create a dropdown list that has terms under about and maybe also contact ) so instead of 13 menu items you have just 8 .
    2. find better bird images , this pics look so dull .
    3. your website doesn't have a footer !! thats like a taboo lol all websites have footers . (footers= the very last texts you see when you scroll down to the bottom of youtube , yahoo etc)
    4. you can use a lightbox for creating image galleries for the birds . look up light box on google .

well this are just somethings that could give your site a little pro look , i myself i am not a pro but lets say i am an advanced beginner i pretty much have about 2yrs basic html experience and i learnt about 70% of that myself thanks to google and resources so don't be discouraged . thumbs up with the avian thing ...not the flu though lol

    1. The design is bad. Not too bad but doesn't look good. People don't tend to stay when their eyes hurt.
    2. Zero Content
    3. Too Many Big Birds.
    4. Image quality of birds and forests ain't that great.
5.Google Ads aren't placed right and is not customized to look good on website.

my advice is to step away from the basic look and do alot of AI photoshop to give it the feeling that its professional and crisp clean and curvy most of all. Make sure you use png's that let you place images overlapping with clear backgrounds this can really help in a basic layout

Like somebody said before, the background image should be changed,or you could use some sort of gradient and a drop shaddow from the "content-box",beside that,it looks ok.Although you could consider a new and professional design when you build up some loyal visitors.

It is made by a proper company lol!

I have already said i liked the look of it so cant really ask them to change it now :(
Maybe i will try somebody else once i have made a few quid (if anything)

I really dont think its bad, i know its not a wow factor website but its my way into the online side of things and i will go from here. I dont want to spend a fortune if i cannot make any money back or decide i do not want to do it anymore.

the 1 thing i want is a good forum but really for the life of me cannot work out how to do it

For a forum you could try using some open-source's available all over the internet as a basis core for your forum, this is if you don't want to code it from scratch yourself. (Didn't mentioned the names of them because I don't want to break some rules or something, but I guess I could PM them).

Well, if the goal is make money with Adsense, then it doesn't matter what it looks like...as a matter of fact, I'd say the more amateurish the better so it looks to a real Google rep like an earnest, unprofessional endeavor.
Just add content and backlinks and you're in business:)

    Cheers!
