    well the name is going to be a stumbling block for a lot of people. Personally I would go with another domain name but you have a 2 million Alexa which isn't bad for a micro site so who knows really. Sometimes I think people are getting beyond needing to have a domain name that is easy to type so that may not be as much of an issue for you as it would have been in the past.

    Theoretically it should be just like any other domain extension but from my experience people with the.US extension have not done very well. But that may be simply coincidental because not many people use.US extensions.

    I chose that something to symbolism like "Search Us" that's why..well I can't change the name because its already bulding backlinks and stuff.But what do you think of the idea ?

    Well as choice said, it would be really difficult to get your site on the top. The only reason being you would have too much of a competition for the term search. If you would have added one more keyword alongwith the term search, it would have been a bit easier ;)

    I think the domain name is quite difficult to remember (the spelling) if you are ready to pour money into marketing ..then everything can be accomplished.

    It depends on the competition and how strong that competition is, if your competition is a PR7+ with millions of backlinks, and your site is brand new, chances of overtaking them in a short time span are pretty slim
