Scaringly many backlinks from one site

I have just about started out building backlinks to my site. According to Yahoo! around 700 links are pointing back to my website from other sites at this time.

That's nice, but about half the number of backlinks are coming from one single site - homeaffiliate.com. I posted a comment or two on their blog, and now links from their site are pouring in.

How can that be? Can this harm my site in any way? Should I do something about it?

    I appreciate your opinion.

Hi Kanute. The blog comment you left is probably being shown sitewide on the site homeaffiliate.com. Sometimes the newwest comments or top commentors will get sitewide links. This number of links will stay until your comment is removed from the sitewide comments area to just the page its on, then you'll notice only 1 link from that site.

if it turns out that those pages which contain your comment are do follow links and have pagerank you may have just hit a link building home run.

Not a big deal. Happens all the time if you are doing blog commenting. It is like Jason C said. They probably have a widget showing the most recent comments. Yahoo's spider just happened to come along at the time that your comment was showing there. They will dwindle as the spider comes back when you comment is not one of the most recent.

Should not be a problem. It is definitely just the widget showing the newest comments.
