Can anybody recomend me a host?

I'm looking for a host as I'm currently on my uncles but I need to be switching soon :)

I'm looking for 20gig or so of space, 400gb of bandwidth, plenty of emails, plenty of SQL databases, room to have 10 or so hosted domains on there. I don't really want to spend more than $5-6 a month, could I get what I am looking for for that price?

If you care at all about uptime then you will need to spend more then $6/month for those specs. If you really need to push 400 GB of transfer you should be looking at a VPS or low-end dedicated server, especially if they are database driven sites.

    What he said ^^

I dunno how you could get a reliable host for that price. I'm sure you'll find some unintelligent person willing to oversell their reseller account, though I guarantee you'll be happier on a VPS (though that much bandwidth would be fairly expensive). I suggest ServInt.

I would suggest http://www.my-web-hosting.com :) Its mine of course but I really do feel its good. I'm not a reseller I actually own my own servers and to be honest I just do it to help pay for them a little. The site is small and not alot of members because as stated I don't want to get them overcrowded because my own sites are actually on them! :) I sent you a pm so if your interested let me know. I let all dp members have a free month to try it out if they want, just pm me for the promo code.

In reality I probably only need 20gb of bandwidth and 2gb of space but I like to have enough so that I don't have to worry about space or bandwidth. If I was to say 5gb of space and 60gb of bandwidth, would I open my options a little?

20gb/2gb - a lot of hostings, even if you have your own PC at home and at your working place connected to internet you can have all you want for free. Run Windows IIS and enjoy!

Dreamhost has a 200GB / 2TB offer - together with a coupon, you could get it around $30 - 40 annual cost ($2.5 - $4 per month, paid in advance).

Quite a few other of the big boys (hostgator, servage,) have similar offers, but the discounts / coupons are probably not as good.

Most of these are oversold, you may be asked to upgrade if you're beginning to use up too much of the server resource.

We can help at HostDrive.Com, but as many said, price wise, for what you want I am not going to be able to meet. I can give you some really good pricing based on your needs, but it is not going to be $5/mo. If you are interested, PM me, or email me at and I would be happy to quote you.

If your site need excellent uptime and service, I recommend Servint. Been with them for more than 1 year, and only left because of the price ($49 a month).

As for the cheaper ones, I recommend LunarPages or DreamHost, if you use their promo codes. I have a $97 promo code for DreamHost (97promo) and I think this one still works with LunarPages (28offhosting), because this last one isn't mine.
If you decide with LunarPages, I can give you a rebate, if you use my affil. link (just PM me).

Host Gator: For $9.95 per month, you can get 5GB of disk space, 75GB of bandwidth, unlimited MySQL databases and all the other standard goodies. I've been using them for quite awhile now, and have never had any complaints about downtime or other issues.

You might try hostexcellence.com. They are probably more than you want to spend, but I have had good results with them.
