Good dedicated server in the ~$40-50 range

I'm at that awkward point where i need a little more than shared hosting, but not $100 a month dedicated hosting. What are some good companys where i can get a dedicated server for $40-50 (or even 30 if possible) a month?

Maby you should go for vps (virtual private server) costs less than dedicated and you have full control. I've got one from powervps.com very pleased with it.

you would be pushed to find a good dedicated server for that sort of price you would be looking more between $80-$120 for a good one i would say VPS might be a better option and there is loads out there to choose from.

Host Gator has a good VPS, but it's about $70.

VPS is your best bet for that price range.

You need to decide in what way a shared server is not good enough for you.

I went the VPS route and 3 mo later I went to a dedicated. VPS will only give you the flexibility, but generally not the processing power - at least that was my experience.

You can sometimes pick up low-end servers for that sort of money, but they tend to go fairly quickly - take a look at webhostingtalk and keep an eye out for the ultra cheap servers. Remember, for this sort of money in a dedicated, you are only likely to get 1Gig proc, 20Gig disk, 500G (or less) B/W and definately no Control Panel (unless you classify webmin as a Control Panel)

I'll add hostforweb.com to that, I went from VPS to dedicated at the start of this year. I've been very impressed with the support and no downtime at all so fay in over 12 months in total.

Best we can do on a Dedicated Server is $89 set up and $89/mo. These things do cost money... ;) IMO, that's pretty darn cheap. Details the Hosting Site in my Sig.
