    I guess it depends on the education level of the Christian in question. My guess is that those who made it through high school would say it means don't build your Jesus out of vertical steel beams seated in water, coated in paper-mache, and the tallest structure in the area. Those with less education, might draw the conclusion you seem to be drawing.
