Definitely video is best seller, because in the present time video is easiest way to learn something.

My personal experience says that Video is much effective than eBook when it comes to conversions. I would recommend you to give Video a try.

It all depends on your niche, how good you are at selling and what your targeted audience wants.

From the web master forums that I visit, both ebooks and videos have their good and bad points. A lot of it depends on your ability to sale the product.

It might be more work but there is a good chance of a higher conversion if you ride on both tracks. Create the video and the ebook. Once you will see which one will convert better you can favor it and put more efforts and time in marketing.

    Good Luck

Video seems to convert better these days, but there are still plenty of people who also like to have something to actually read and refer back to. The two formats complement each other well, so I would say, do video, but provide a PDF transcript too.

Depends on the length, if the content that you want your users to receive is large then I would definitely suggest a video, and if it is the other way then an e-book.

I think the best solution is combination of both, probably one e-book in pdf format and few videos (.flv or .avi or .mov)

I agree, create both if you can.
I like to learn with video but once i've gone through the videos i prefer to revise the info through my notes and a PDF transcript

Sell the video and as an added "bonus" give the ebook. You can charge more for the video when you throw in the ebook, than if you just sold the video alone. Make it a "package".

Why not do a combo of both? If I had to pick, go with video since its easier for the user to follow and requires less effort (yes, people are lazy) :)

I would say to write first write your video script, create the video and then adapt the video script to an ebook.

Create the videos then spend a few dollars at one of the gig sites and get someone to transcribe the videos, the transcription is your ebook

Once you have both videos and ebook there are 2 ways you should try selling them

You can sell the ebook and then offer the videos as an upsell or bonus, either immediately or through email after the sale (you could try selling the videos and then offering the ebook as the bonus or the upsell, but that won't convert as well)

You can sell the ebook and the videos together at a higher price point and offer the ebook as a downsell at a much lower price than the package and allowing those that buy just the ebook to use what they paid for the ebook as a credit toward purchasing the whole package if they choose to do so at a later time

The whole idea is to get them to buy something from you so that you can keep selling to them, there are very few products in the world that will allow you to make a living by selling only that one product, you should always have a second and third product ready to sell to your customers even if the products aren't yours and you have to use affiliate offers

You see! People are affected more by what they see and hear than what they read. Videos beat articles (Even E-books) in every way.

If I'm to choose for you, i will go for the video.

Send traffic to it. Then get people talking. The rest will do itself.

How about doing both? You can use the video as a bonus.

Just adding to Vonline's reply: I too think that is the best option, Create both, Sell your ebook at very reasonable price, and make video a bonus. You might get lot of sales, since word FREE can do magics when selling online...
