I'm fed up!

    Hi all,

I wrote this thread because I'm fed up with the online world...

The problem is that every time that I try to promote my site or my product, something comes in and I kind of fail.

    Examples:

    • I submitted one of my articles to several article directories. Few weeks later I search in Google: "my article title". I saw that about 10 blogs published my article. I was shocked. Out of 10 blogs, 3 didn't publish my author bio with the post. And another 5 modified the link to NOFOLLOW. So only two real links remained.

    • I wrote a thread at an other online webmaster forum. It was very successful. It got 200 replies and 3000+ views. But the best bit is that I got more than 80 unique visitors from my signature. Then one day the moderators deleted it for no reason.

    • I ranked high for some keywords. But Google did it's panda update and my targeted traffic dropped significantly.

    See what I mean?

Did this happen to you in the meantime?

    Anyway thanks for your time.

    Best Regards,
    Akos

(This doesn't mean that I will stop blogging or marketing, but I'm very angry)

This is part of the business. The people that succeed are the ones that adapt, learn and move on.

Relax, my friend. It's normal to be frustrated. If you throw in the towel right now, that means you are in the same group with 99% of the population. Remember, Thomas Edison was in the 1% group.

My suggestion - stop submitting your work to other sites. Why should you give your articles away in the "hopes" that someone reads them, then goes to your site? Bah!!! on that.

Post your articles on your own site, establish your site as an authority in its field and go from there.

Personally, I NEVER post my articles on other sites. My articles, my property, my site.

Part of the game indeed. You win some and lose some.. I agree that you should stop submitting your work to other sites and move on to something else. Learn from your mistake and keep your head up.

Well part of the problem is that your marketing should never rely exclusively on assets that you don't have control of. What I mean by that is things like Google, forums, article directories, Web 2.0 properties are all things that you don't control. If they change their policies, delete a thread, etc. then your marketing is impacted by that. If you build up your own list/database of customers or use a variety of different, more stable types of marketing (ones that aren't known for suddenly changing their policies), then you have more control.

Also, as far as getting traffic from forums, remember that your signature "ad copy" is what determines if someone will click through to your site. You have to give people a reason to click. If you just have something like "Social Media Tips", it might not be compelling enough for someone to click through. Try something more like "How I Built A Facebook Page With 8,000 Fans In Just One Week For Free!" (Obviously if you use something like that it should be true). That's more likely to get people curious about checking out your site because it talks about a specific benefit. Good luck!

In the internet marketing world that doesn't matter what you are doing, what matter is how you are doing. For example, everybody can do blog commenting many will do it in a spammy way, some will do it in normal way and very few will do it in such an extra ordinary way that they will build a relationship with blog owner and might get a link from him. The other thing is you cannot rely on just one thing because in internet marketing you can not trust on something that if something is working today, tomorrow it will be no where.
Moreover you need to do a research on every single bit you are going to do. I usually post a thread on different forums before implementing my idea, when people share their own ideas than I completely know about the different aspects to get the maximum benefit from what I am going to do.
If you had researched enough you must be knowing that these are the normal things and part of the game.

Quitters are losers, they don't succeed from the first time and leave the online business, they lose their opportunity to try again and succeed. Don't be looser, and use your time to work, not to complain in the forums.

I stopped using article marketing, and stuck with forum marketing. I get better leads like that and fast. I don't have to wait for article approval.
