    The short answer: No. Google doesn't care. If you're a webmaster, don't worry about it.

    Good answer - because designs and domain extension are not important - google just works on content.

    I have some question about this, in my mind. Im sure the reason it wouldnt matter would be because of the fairly large amount data SEs read in a pages code, however it would still stand to reason that having cleaner code with less congestion of tags and misc code 'bloat' would make it easier for the SEs to focus on the content of the page, as opposed to getting bogged down in the code tags that direct things like the color of text, back ground, indentions, etc.

    What are your thoughts and supporting reasons?

    @exe download....

    Do agree with your points... i even suggest that having a cleaner code with less congestion is the final things which Google likes :)

    Not sure that it no longer matters. Google has said they now consider "load time" as a factor in how they assess a website. If a site loads faster because it uses CSS rather than tables it may have a slight advantage.

    I don't quite agree to it. For obvious reasons it is easier for bots to crawl DIV tags rather than those outdated tr and td tags. Someone who has tried google page speed optimizer will know this that google itself recommends using CSS.
