    If you are looking for free and fast traffic then go for blog commenting, twitter marketing and blog directory submissions. Article marketing is also free but it takes a little bit longer to see a lot of traffic from it.

    The best traffic is targeted traffic, as these visitors will have more chance of being interested in what your website offers. The best way to gain these are to advertise on other niche related websites.. just goodge them.. leave blog comments (high quality) forums, articles, etc.. the more the better.. you might even gain some backlinks at the same time if done correctly ;)

    I would suggest using Yahoo Answers for fast free traffic. Find relevant questions to answer and then just put your website URL in the "What's your source?" box and bingo free traffic and plenty of it :)
