    Hi Friends,

Would like to know your views on multiple website strategy.?

just taking an hypothetical example for it. I have a shopping website with brand name, do it will be a good idea for to create 2-3 separate websites with having the keywords in URL e.g keyword1.com, keyword2.com, keyword3.com and promote them as it will be easier to rank good for the respective keywords than my site with brand name in it.

Do its wise to follow this idea? If yes, should have seprate sites or used redirects to main site? what care should be taken? I understand it will additional work and also have to maintain original content all sites.

    Your views friends.

    Regards,

I tried this once for my skin care ecommerce site and using a generic article based site relating to a particular type of skin cream did generate a significant amount of extra sales about 3 months after implementation. We didnt change the content so it was a one time effort although the content was very well written and picked on a few key phrases. Give it a go it will only cost a few cheap domain registrations.

Do not try it for highly competitive keywords, but if you set up the websites in different servers, with different text and NO linking with each other, you have a potential hit.

For two different keywords I have 6 websites on the first page of Google, including the top 4 positions. When the business does not come from one site it comes from a different one. Problem: 6x SEO!

SEO has full of tricks if we just learn all those tricks we would surely rock the SERP. But it really takes too much of our time. For me, i'm thinking of making another blog aside from the existing one but i'm afraid i cannot maintain the blog with quality content and the SEO thing.

It would be a good strategy if you are targeting numerous keywords on separate domain with unique content on each one of them. But if you are expecting the results just out of similar content on each one of them... it might not help.
