This is good advice. Along this same line of thought, find forums where your audience would normally hang out and post to those.

For a somewhat more aggressive stance, but still more direct than just plastering the net with random backlinks, download the free version of G-Lock blog software. This will go out and find blogs related to your subject matter and will show you how they are ranking. Post informative comments on those blogs, bookmark the active and interesting ones and comment regularly. Also, since it is your subject, ask the blog owner if you can post guest articles.

Doing blog commenting and forum posting ,submitting articles and so on.Now I often do forum posts.

 

I suggest you log into forums about writing, essay writing, or forums for students and professionals who are studying to get a degree and need to write or submit a paper/research work. Participate in those types of forums, or blogs if you can find one, and make sure that your signature contains the link to your website. Whenever possible, refer to your site.

Only related, quality and high PR link is powerful. Dont try to build links on blogs and forum or social bookmarking websites initially. These work should be done when your website becomes established in search engines.

Link Exchange, Press Release, Yahoo Answer posting, Blog posting, Commenting, Forum posting, Video Marketing etc.

 

What I suggest is instead of going after 5000 links try to get links, but less quality and best results. Its good to have many links, but should be of links if you have a link farm many of them if you buy in a bulk link farm will not make good.

I totally agree with duffers2010. Just ask related websites, the worst thing you will be told is no. Link exchange or reciprocal links are good, but only if they are relevant to your site...

 

Forum posting helps a lot. Just stick to one forum which gives you quality backlinks and remain honest to it. Help people out and you will be rewarded.
