Directory submission is useful to get traffic but not as much compared with Social Media Networks, Forum Posting and Blog Commenting.

 

Directory submission is the way to get backlinks. You will get the traffic by social bookmarking and social networking sites.Example- Twitter, Facebook.....

 

Yes no doubt Directory is the best way to get Traffic and backlinks.

 

It depends upon the directories that you are getting the links from. Usually directories are just used to increase your quantity of backlinks.

While concentrating on the links from directories, I have found that one or two, such as freeindex in the UK do actually drive some quality traffic to my sites, as a nice little side benefit.

 

Article marketing will get you much more direct traffic than directories. I wouldn’t bother doing directory submissions. Unless you bought some tool or software that will automate the task and will help you get backlinks. Otherwise focus on getting other, more useful links than those from directories!

It is a wast of time if you ask me.

Yeah, it is mainly for seo purposes unless you get yourself into directories such as DMOZ which can take forever for you to be accepted..

 

Directories always helps to get good backlinks for your sites as well as many of the high PR directories also helps to get good traffic.

As more chances of getting your link approved in directories means you can expect some traffic from directories but that not be of your target
