    I would suggest that you get a blog for your site first as it helps get traffic and will be your entity.. you may also want to submit some articles on article directories and work on Off page SEO..

    I think SEO is the best and cheap way to market your self in search engine. and you can only get valuable traffic only from SEO. but it will take some time to get your website on first page in Google or any other search engine. but once you come on first page of google you will start to get traffic.

    You can increase the traffic through some basic SEO tasks. Do all the on page SEO optimization to your webpages. Then go for some OFF Page optimization like Forum posting, blog commenting, Article submission, Social bookmarking. Its always good to start a blog also. Coz, blogs are the best ways to generate traffic to your site.

    We'll if you have a limited budget you should go for the free ones. Such as Social Media, Back Linking, Blogging and Forum Commenting. Those are free, but you need hard work and dedication to accomplish that and it's not a overnight job. It takes 3-6 months see the effect.
