Nintendo 3DS

Anyone going to get this. I have a 5 year old, loves his nintendo ds, but they said under 6 shouldn't play this version because it could affect vision...

 

no doctors recently said 3DS actually helps kids' vision

 

I'd wait a few months and see how its affecting other kids before I get him one. Theres been stories of ill effects of Nintendo's 3D software on the eyes.

 

I don't think it will effect anyone. People are making up stuff. They are pretty cool, I want one!

 

There is nothing wrong if we believe it.

 

You can adjust the 3D effect anyway, or turn it off completely.

 

There is a switch that turn the 3D effect off, but I would just wait till they get some better games out.

Well, I think you should moderate the playing time of your son. That would be the good action to take if you're really worried on the health effects of playing the game.

 

I think that we do not have to let our kids using Nintendo 3D because of producers commercial manipulations. The health of the kids is more important that to look for new modern technologies and be proud of it as an owner.

 

Im getting one. I used to get headaches from 3D but the technology has improved quite a bit recently.

 

Anyone know if they are any good? I've never really been interested in Nintendo as they seem a bit childish... The Wii was pretty fun for a little while but the only games I find worth playing are Mario, Zelda and Donkey Kong.

I think I'll stick to PC and some occasional Xbox 360 gaming.

 

3DS is losing its popularity right now. Relatively low price for console and big for games - such a combination doesn't seem to work this time.

 

And the price of the console will go down in a year while the prices stay the same, I must admit~ I would be willing to pay that price for a PSP game but not for a 3ds game. Fair enough it is in 3d but that is all it has going for it.

 

Id wait just a little while....the price will go down or theyll come out with a better one in 6 months that probably hurts your eyes less...Ive heard a couple people complaining about headache and stuff with the 3D

 

Prices is not the biggest problem actually. Nintendo 3DS is using the hardware which is as new as PSP. So when NGP (PSP 2) will be released - Nintendo will lose the rest of its fans. Gameplay and plot are essential for games, however an up-to-date graphics is a must.

 

The 3DS is a novelty and I don't see how it can be taken seriously similar to the Wii it's not about the graphics its just the fact that it was different to other consoles now with the playstation move and xbox kinect the console has lost it's main selling feature
