Suggestion Paid infraction lifts

    I would be interested in making this proposal because of its potential ability to generate significant extra revenue for the forum as well as potentially rehabilitating banned users.

    While it may be criticized for providing the ability to evade bans, I personally believe that individuals who pay a hefty price for infractions ($100 each), individuals would be super-watchful of their behavior upon their return. They will pay $100 remove 1 infraction point from their account.

    This "bail" system will benefit both the forum and its users, boosting the forum's revenue, and the behavior of its members.

    If this suggestion is implemented, I would be interested in 10% commissions if possible. I would be interested in feedback on this proposal. I'd be interested in daily PayPal payments, for my earnings that day.

    Thanks.

    Possibly, the worst idea I've ever heard. You want to make an incentive for us to ban people... so we can extort them out of money. Sweet idea. {rolls eyes}

    Our rules are in place to run the site smoothly, not to try and make a buck off people breaking them. If someone is unable to control themselves when it comes to breaking rules, we don't want them here.

    Right, but just like the actual law in the outside world, when people have to pay, they watch themselves after paying (as I have stated in my original post). This is why the "bail" system is useful.

    They can pay with time, as they already do, or they can have another option, to pay with money if they have such a strong desire to come back, by paying an "infraction removal fee".

    It's obviously a dupe id, for someone whose other account had a lot of infractions... I served a one year ban for those -- I can tell you this much, you do the crime, you do the time...

    If time is all one needs to come back, then why would anyone want to pay anything?
    Just wait for a couple of months and get back to whatever you do for free. Make sense?

    :rolleyes:

    What a bad idea. This would give scammers and general bad people at DP an advantage. Not only that, I doubt (well, I know), Shawn would not extort members of DP for cash.

    Interesting idea, but not suitable for forums, maybe networking sites can use for their site to run in the market :D
    Most of the forums have the common rules and regulations which have to implement to everyone. Also this is not a common world you lead your life in :) its an online forum. This way the rich will be immortal on the forum and the poor will die sudden death :p

    With this method... people could save tons of Dollars by just simply taking 10 minutes to read the rules. Would some people really prefer to pay for something you shouldn't pay for instead of reading something once, which is free (or let's say once every few months).

    Awkward! ;)
