Suggestion Thanks, Like & Dislike Buttons?

    Hi

is it possible to have like a thanks, like and dislike button where the user can thank someone etc by clicking the button which then appears under the post. will keep threads cleaner instead of users saying thanks etc.

will make another read through posts more easily, instead of reading thanks thanks thanks, you get my idea?

and by clicking thanks and like the user's reputation rises?

just a suggestion. your feedback please?

People are asking Shawn to add 'Thank You Button' for long time now but....
cutting at least 50% of spam/infractions/bans is not on his priorities list.

    :)

i think its a really good idea and will save the admin(s)/mods alot of time. will make the place even more better as well. Encourage users not to just thanks or spam in anyway.

    In ideal world maybe but...
people should use "Star" button and yet thousands of them continue posting
"good info", "I agree, good point" etc. instead of just using that option.

There will be some changes to the reputation system someday. I've poked around doing the changes a bit, but it turned out to be a lot more work than I anticipated, so I put it off for now.

Well , I personally hate "Thanks" button , It sucks . It only destroys the threads . Just take a look at BHW threads , You have to scroll down the page for almost 5 mins to see human posts :D

yeah if they can make these buttons look with the site by integrating them well in the site, there is no reason for not having them here

It could be on the line right beneath your signature where the IP, star and ! buttons are. Just next to it.

With a link between the brackets :)

If you ask me, then groundless brainstorming sucks.

Dah...that is exactly why thank you button is needed.
It will stop trolls and spammers from posting stupid and useless posts.

We have a rep button that can be used for peer moderation.

Lol , It may help , But again I believe this button is unnecessary :)

Does it really stop spammers ? Well , There are thousands of web forums installed this button , Can't you find any "spam" or junk post ?!

Actually I think the best solution is following this rule :

@ Shawn : Why do you want to install it after so many years ?

Well, I don't think that some fucking morons care about little star or even know what it's for
but if they see instead "Thank you" button, then they will know that making thank you post
will automatically guarantee them infraction and think twice before posting another useless post.

    :)

The current reputation system works quite fine if mods would nuke all the inadequate replies it would be even finer .
