This is an interesting tool: http://www.mob.net/~ted/tools/dns.php3 Enter in a domain name and it will check what IP it is associated with through several ISP DNS caches. 99% of the time this is completely useless, but if you have just moved a domain name this can be helpful to see how the propagation is going.
Interesting, it could be useful also when creating subdomains, to see the propagation time. I like their new option to choose a "DNS server".
Thanks, i used this took just now as i wanted to check the status of my domain. i changed the server from windows to linux and hence dns, and most of the international dns showed the website but of this region. Also i use proxy server to see the website live, it shows from other country proxy server when it does not show from this region. so proxy server are useful too.
Hi, Subdomains does not need time to propogate right? It works right away as soon as you create one. I created many sub domains in the past for many domains and it never took time to propogate, it always showed. because sub domain takes its main domain names ip address right? correct me.
Correct - the DNS records for the domain indicate where to go to find the hosting servers of all subdomains (of which "www" is one).
