Six months ago I created a throw-away gmail account and signed up to a number of free mini-courses offered in sales letters. I was quite selective and only signed up to small evergreen niches. Recently I went back to this gmail account to discover that most newsletter series lasted less than 30 days, and a couple under 60 days... then I never hear from them. Isn't that a waste? Aren't these people stuck paying a monthly fee from aweber (or whoever)? So my question to you is: how can a vendor/affiliate in a small niche, monetize their 'free list' when there isn't an abundance of RELATED products to promote?
A lot of the newsletters I subscribed to were in health - particularly products that offered natural solutions to problems like; tinnitus, yeast infections, reflux, excess sweating etc..
I believe they can't. Most of them focus on one product. This product is either "completely new," or "fully relevant." I assume such small business initiatives don't last for long, but they may face contextual success...
Have you tried some general offers that most people need like ink cartridges? It does not convert as well as related products, but I have had some success with these sorts of offers.
If you can run a 2 month campaign with one product then that is probably the natural attrition rate, the secret is to build up the trust of your list over that two months, then introduce "like" products to get new interest out of your list. Because they have come to know you over two months they are likely to trust your recommendation on new products too.
i think in that case, they are able to find out very targeted leads which has got a very high ratio of conversion. only then they can afford aweber and still make profit.
It can be effective but thing that matter is that to whom you are sending the email. Email marketing can be useful but email should go to the person who is in search of that things. Otherwise it will counted as an another spam mail.
To make this work, the email needs to as relevant and targeted as possible. It’s no good sending an email promoting apples to someone who likes oranges. The point. Know your list! You should make the offer as attractive as possible by incentivising the user in order to increase engagement and make a conversion. Hope this helps Thanks unpickled
Email marketing is good to increase any product sells, but it is very difficult to say that it will be profitable for small niche or not, however all the things depend on the product or niche.
I think that building a strong relationship with your list(small niche, large niche) is the best policy!
