IE is dead.

Or not? What do you think?

We designed http://www.kultstudio.com/ and do not support IE. Just seems we would have had to dumb-down our site too much to make it compatible. That or create a whole new website just for IE people. Is this a mistake or will IE be phased out over time?

Our recent stats show that around 1-2% of people clicking on our site are using IE. IE users will get a splash page showing we don't support IE and recommend another browser such as firefox, chrome, safari, opera.

Slowly dying but not dead. It's just a matter of time before they get overtaken.

Since ms includes ie with new windows computer in a lot of countries there will always be those that use it. People are becoming more aware of other browsers and more likely to install them than they used to. It wouldn't bother me any if ie just died off, but I don't think that will happen at least not for a while yet.

As a web developer and designer, I had always used firefox for the last 3-4 years. However, now Chrome is faster, better dev tools and just overall seems more "polished"

IE isn't dead yet its just their market share has come down after the launch of chrome. But i feel IE 9 is better than the earlier versions and still many people support IE

even though most people don't install IE over Firefox, chrome, safari or opera. There are still a lot of people who don't wish to change there environment. They have been using IE for a long time or since they started using computers that they don't want to change.

If a visitor wants to visit your site he/she will download a new browser, else they will just end up going to another website.

I suggest you keep track of all the visitors using IE, in case the % or number of users increase i suggest you create an IE friendly version, also since we can never be sure which visitor is our potential next client - i suggest you do something for IE than the splash page.

The common problem of web developer is the compatibility of sites from firefox to IE. There are instances that the site design is not perfectly fitted to IE, so you need to put some code in this just to make the design perfect.
