You can use social media sites to promote your hotel business like Facebook, Twitter, Orkut, Digg, Stumpleupon, Myspace etc...

Do a research on tourists in your country. Find out from which countries are they coming from and target that country? Could you give us more information about your hotel, location etc.?

That would depend on which market you're trying to penetrate. If you're leaning towards local tourists, then Facebook and Twitter should be a good place to start. :)

Try being very selective in the keywords you choose (only choosing ones that apply to your area), use social networking to get the message out there (including four square), invite hotel review websites to stay in your hotel for free in exchange for them writing a blog post on your hotel and you could always pay for advertising on Google or a specialised hotel website.

    Good luck!!

I would use youtube videos. Using website such as Squidoo is hard to bring any significant traffic in (I know exceptions abound).

Do market research. Find out who your potential customers are and offer deals to draw them to you rather than others. Personally I would try to make deals with travel sites for exclusive deals. They'll market it for you since it makes them look like they get more "insider" deals.

Hotel niche. There's only one thing you should really think about right now and that's getting reviews and adding your hotel on all hotel directories there are (even foreign directories) and make sure it gets good reviews, that's the biggest chance to convert visitors into customers.
