Can a beginner really make money online? Something that many newbies always ask when starting out in this big strange world.. Well, the answer is, YES. Anyone can make money online! It's actually EASY. BUT (yes there is a but), in ANY kind of business, you HAVE to learn certain skills first. And trust me, the skills required are almost laughably simple when you actually get your hands on it. You must remember, there are NO such thing as a get rich quick business. No matter what the sales page say, there is ABSOLUTELY NO SUCH THING. Online business should and must be treated just like a real life offline business. Just the steps taken, (and costs) are different! The most basic steps of getting an online business up is as follows: - Get a webpage - Create content, have a product, - Get traffic to website - Send free gifts to subscribers - Build your list of subscribers (Continue driving traffic) - Promote stuffs to your list of subcribers - Ka-chingz~ And next, the skills that you need to learn: 1 - Very simple web building skills 2 - How to set up a fully functional webpage online 3 - Get an auto responder (a matter of just signing up actually) 4 - Generating traffic Trust me, if I can give a time limit to learn all this, it's very possible to learn within 2 days! It is that EASY. Total costs you ever need to get your business up and running? - Domain name - Hosting account - Autoresponder. Believe me, it only costs LESS then $40. (compare that to an offline business) Here's a quick run down of the skills you need to learn.. 1 - Web building skills There are a lot of free webbuilding softwares out there, even free online versions that teaches you the very basic of setting one up. For beginners, WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) web builders are the easiest to work with. It does it job quick and very user friendly. I recommend KompoZer. (KompoZer.net) Now to get it up, you need the following: - Domain name (namecheap.com, godaddy.com) - Hosting account (hostgator.com) This is also just a matter of signing up! 2 - Set up a webpage This is by far the most important, but also, the MOST easiest. Did you know that ALL you need is just ONE page to get your business started?? YES, its true! It's called a SQUEEZE Page. What is it? If you have seen a long, vertical webpage, saying something like, ATTENTION, Read This! It may save your life!. etc etc, trying to sell something, THAT is a squeeze page. I believe some of you have encountered a very good squeeze page you actually bought something. THAT is what you are going to do! It's amazingly simple! 3 - Getting an autoresponder (aweber.com) This is the heart of your business. You simply NEED an autoresponder. This is how you get your list of subscribers, and enable you to promote to them your products. How to get one? Remember how you sign up for, e.g, Hotmail? It's that easy! 4 - Generating traffic This is where you do the promotion and marketing. There are various methods out there. Forum marketing, facebook marketing, article marketing, PPC, blogging etc etc. But ALL of them comes to the same conclusion, GETTING TRAFFIC TO YOUR SITE! It's just a matter of choice! THAT'S IT. All you need to know and learn to get a business up! And remember, all of this just need to be done ONCE, and you're just have to monitor them! I hope this will help clarify some beginners out there who are confused about starting an online business. If anyone out there willing to further clarify this to help our budding new Internet Marketers, please do so and pitch in!!

Find something you enjoy or want to learn, then market that. This way while trauling through the internet for hours on end it doesn't feel like work, but rather research and or an enjoyment. Ultimately the learning is the best stuff to try and market, this way you increase you general knowledge and make your digital knowledge worth more by the hour/product. If your gut tells you there is a market or you see something no one else is trying, if you see a loop hole, not the blackhat ones, only honest business ones, use it, learn from it, give your knowledge back to the people.
Thank you everyone for pitching in! I hope this helps to fellow newcomers, and not get overwhelmed with information. I do also hope the breakdown I did was clear enough for beginners. If any of you are still unclear, please reply here! I will update the original post to help new readers.
Yes this can apply to blogging. To me, blogging = website. Its basically the same. You just don't have to go through the domain name registration and hosting accounts. Forgive me to fellow intermediate/experts internet marketers. I regard myself as still a newbie, always learning. So forgive me if I have given wrong information to anyone. Just like everyone else, I'm constantly improving myself. Thanks!
The best point in this: GET TRAFFIC TO YOUR SITE, its what most people overlook!! Also, thanks for the point about the auto responder, i'm gonna get onto it right now!
yep! the very very basic of an online business. yes it does branch out to various other things. doing ppc, tracking the links, article submission, where and how. how to write a good sales pitch, how to get loyal subscribers. it can get very confusing. hope this guide shows someone the 'easiest' and most basic way to earn money online.
There actually are some get rich quick methods out there, and many methods that offer large amounts of money fast. The thing is though, there is NO 'do nothing get rich methods'. You have to make an effort, which means learning and implementing what you've learned regularly. Most people either put little to no effort in and quit when they don't see a return right away, or they never start to begin with. It can be simple, it can be fast, but it isn't free.
