you bring up a really good concern here. But sites that are very huge, will have excellent database caching, and WordPress caching. Their servers should be strong enough to handle these tiny requests. While the solution you suggest is not horrendous, it is definitely not the most SEO friendly way either.

As some of your have noticed, we changed the URL structure on Search Engine Journal entries today from the classic “/?=4556″ to “/seo-friendly-url-structure-for-wordpress-blogs/4556/” on all Search Engine Journal posts.

I had not done this before because of 4 years of incoming links to SEJ stories which used the old URL structure, and fear of duplicate content issues if redirects did not work correctly. With some help from SEJ co-author (who some of your may recognize from his days at Performancing.com)

all those is nice. But url 1 is nice. because In url 1 main keyword is next to domain. Even URL length is more the keyword in url is highlighted in search result.

the second one is right but use better the month and year for naming the folder. you can also use the topic as the folder name but when posts are going large it not be feasible.

I think #3 would be best.

For the simple reason that order has weight. The closer the keyword to the domain name, the more ranking weight it will have.

Also if you put the name of post right after the domain, you would be much easier to find in Google. For example, let's say your post talks about "proper way to optimize your website", when a person will type in a query which is similar to your posts title, you will most probably show up as SERPs.

The first one would be the best because it will help you pick up on the long tail keywords especially if your topics are set up correctly.

i think the first URL you placed is the seo friendly as google bots can easily detect the categories and sub categories.Besides that it also becomes easy for Google bots to display top results for relevant search.
