i do agree with you tankard , i'm sure submitting site to Search engines is not good idea because if you are going to submit your site to them then depend on them when they gonna Approve your site, But if you can do some social bookmarking then do it because of this way they will index your site very fast rather then manual Submission

I have never submitted my url to search engines whether manually or through a submitter tool, even for new sites created. I don't see the need to if you are thinking of just indexing your site this way. There are many other better ways like article submissions or link building and these are more beneficial for your website to get immediate backlinks and gain some authority in the long run.

Do not submit more than once. Otherwise your submission will be considered as a spam one.

Your site link once. Your site map every time your site updates with new content.

ya so i went and submitted my site to like all the major US search engines and i just wait. cuz if you do end up submitting anymore than once, your site will get screwed in the a$* by all of them cuz they will ban you. HOWEVER, if you do it like once every four to six weeks, it shows them that you have most likely updated your site quite a bit since the last time since you submitted. so yes too much is bad but every four to six is perfect.

What a difference a day makes .. huh?

Used to be, back in the day, before autosubmitters, one had to submit, via email, to what seemed like hundreds of indexes.

Now days, a few good clean linkbacks, and an xml sitemap placed in your root directory virtually eliminates the need to ever submit at all .. my how things have changed.

    The correct answer is ZERO.

Get a few good links and any search engine worth their weight will find you.

I think you must resubmit again depends on what search engine you submit but not to earlier you submit again, because some search engine have log after you submit. The best time to you to resubmit again about 6 month. Some search engine after you resubmit they crawl your site

search engine submission is one time process as per the Google guideline, it need not to do again and again.
