Press Releases affect website ranking?

    Many of my clients release newsletters and other pieces of content qualify as press releases. I have been wondering if people find that the press release sites such as PRleap or PRweb are useful and worthwhile? If so, which do you feel is the best?
    Is there any research on this? Do you have any good experience?

    Yeah, press releases are very helpful to get higher ranking.. I'd recommend you to do a search on SEO tips via Google and find all possible info.

    PR is good idea as the structure of it is based on syndication. You submit a PR, publishers - who are not just mere publishers but authoritative - can pick that and use it. Off course, you will not be paid to get your item published on such spectrum but you get the exposition. And as you know, in PR you leave link, so getting a link from them adds credibility to yours. It really matters in terms of SEO and traffic. It should be your integral part of campaign or implementation works. Try google for top PR sites. You will get the link list.

    PR's work really well if they are really well written and informative - with the right PR, lots of sources can pick it up and backlink to your site which provides significant SEO value.

    Press Releases are good, but I have found while they generally have a good short-term boost in traffic, they don't really provide a sustained SERP effect. The link is still good of course, but I would reserve press releases for things that either #1 are news worthy and have the chance of getting picked up by multiple media outlets or #2 if you are trying to attract attention from other business people in your market. If you are just looking for a backlink there are cheaper or even free sources that will have the same long-term effect as a press release.

    yes.. press releases to help in ranking..
    branded press releases from reputed sites are pretty expensive.. but if you do it once or twice a month it helps a lot in seo

    Good tips here! Also, if you don't have time to write the press releases yourself, you should look into ODesk and see if you can outsource some of your work. It's all about being efficient and productive with SEO, and if you can save a few hours a day for only $5-6 bucks, it'll definitely be worth it in the long run!
