301 backlinks and PR0

I just checked backlinks for one of my sites - 301 backlinks and no PR, how is this possible.
I had some PR-ed backlinks, but Google has not given me any PR in this update.

yeah, its really strange, especially when I know that I have PR5 for one site in update before this last for 350 backlinks

 

Is your site new? Some brand new sites got backlinks but not PR last update. I had one myself.

 

its some 3 months old, so assume its new

 

Are you getting any decent placements for your targetted keywords? If your not banned from google your fine..

Wait until the next update and see. If you don't get any PR by the next update something's wrong.

I have site with considerably less IBL's and I have PR5.. BUT it took about six months.

Well, its MySpace site, and I get 200-300 daily visitors from Google, so I am not banned

 

hi,how did u find that u have 301 back links. i mean link:domain name in google or any other way.b'coz if u checked in msn or yahoo it shows more links than google.where as in google it shows few links and i think that is the true result which considered by google, during calculation of back links.It might be possible that google did not consider all 301 links as a inner links.and that is why you did not get PR in this update.

THats nothing to be worried of. Google sees the quality of sites linking to you. For more details you will need to understand how the page rank algorithm works... if the sites linking to you have themselves thousands of sites linking to them and have less outgoing links they pass more PR .... if get links to my site from a 1000 sites and each of those thousand sites have few backlinks... that means i will not have any PR.... same if i get links from 10000 useless sites.

On the other hand take a example where you have only 20 backlinks to your site but each of those individual 20 pages themselves have 10000 backlinks to them and no other outgoing link (i.e they link only to your site) ... you will probably be awarded with a more high PR by Google

well, i said I get some 200-300 uniques from SERPs daily, and yes, I used link:www.domain.com for checking backlinks

 

Google is weird, and we will never understand them - you should have learned that by now . What stats are these from? Like awstats? Or something more reliable like Google Analytics?

i have this problem sometimes.. i believe that WagerX is right. if there is not any serious problem with this site, in the next update it will get a higher pr!

i have noticed also that the pr of some sites didn't changed though i was expecting it (and worked for it). but it is wise what the guys said: we can't understand google, we have to deal with it

 

If i create a 301 redirect, which page gets the traffic, the origin or the landing page? Any idea?

 

The latest PR update seemed to be from 2 months before it happened. My one site had over 5,000 backlinks and didnt get a PR.
