Suggestion Infraction - Make a time limit

Just got an infracation for a post I made 2 years ago.

Whoever did this actually made me lol. Seriously, shouldn't mods be looking through recent posts and moderating that?

There should be a time limit. People change completely in 2 years.;)

Exactly. Even if people don't change it leads me to question why a mod is looking at topics 2 years old and not concentrating on current matters.

I think there would have been a noob who would have been reading a thread and then he would have jumped to another thread in the "Related threads" which are years ago and would have reported it.;)

But mate,a wrong-doing/rule breaking does not get adjusted over time. A rule broken IS a rule broken, either 2 years ago or 2 seconds ago. And, after all it's just an infraction. :D

Unless the rule was not in affect when your post was made I don't think you have room to complain.

But this is the internet. My post was made two years ago and no infraction was given then. I just want to understand the logic of giving an infraction for something two years later...
It's like a football player makes a bad tackle on someone during a game and two years later he gets fined because someone rewatched the match and didn't like the tackle.

There isn't going to be a statute of limitation for people breaking our rules, sorry.

No, you can't compare this to a football match :). On the contrary, it's similar to you not paying a certain amount of tax a couple years ago. If you're caught, you have to pay the fine/penalty.

What he basically is asking in OP:
why da fuck Mods are going back 2 years penalizing old posts if
there are thousands posted every day that Mods simply ignore.

I won't say who but after I reported "thank you" post, Mod made
another one right below as if thank you post doesn't exist.

    :)

Mods don't look for old stuff specifically, but if they come across an old post that was missed...

Should we also not delete spam if it was missed and more than 30 days old but a mod comes across it? :)

Hey, I'm not arguing with you and you know that for me spam is a spam is a spam
regardless when it was posted, it just I hate to see reported spam sometimes left alone.

BTW, when are you going to fix my Report Button?

I find it funny that a mod was "special" enough to give you a infraction for a a two year old post and I find it sad that Shawn is defending that decision . Maybe his infamous "to do" list should include revamping the mod team . Somehow i get the feeling that things can run far far smoothly .

Just give it a thought. A mmember who has been online for years, who gets 1 infraction in a month, will never get banne din all years but if you get hold of his older posts he may get more than 30 infractions in one sec. :D

    Exactly.
At least on a couple of occasions Mods couldn't wait for my next post to ban me
so they went back to my older posts to top up my total count to 10 points.
