Haven't had an increase in clicks, still at the same amount of clicks as normal. Ive just had an increase in CPC, now getting around 30c CPC on some days and 10c CPC on others.

 

It changes alot from day to day, site to site. Just luck!

I feel vectro hosting is slow.. thinking to buy vps or dedicated hosting... any good/cheap company?

 

There's good, and there's cheap. Finding good and cheap is harder. You can keep an eye out in the Cheap Stuff or the Web Hosting sections, some decent deals can be had. I'd try a vps first, dedicated servers will be a lot more expensive and you're unlikely to need that much to begin with.

You might need to learn new skills though (always interesting) like connecting with SSH and installing Kloxo (LXAdmin) for instance, but you will get a lot more resources for your money so it's worth it in the end. I'd go for at least 512MB ram (1024MB burst) though, Kloxo will use half so you want some left. You won't need much disk space, it's only the log files that will fill that up but you can usually get 1 or 2 TB's of bandwidth (1TB = 1000GB) which will be more than enough for around $10 or so a month. You could buy a cheap one to practice on first then upgrade later when you find out how it all works. Some providers also do the first month half price so that's worth looking out for to start off with. Recommendations? I've tried DMEhosting and Curvedhost recently, no complaints so far and good prices as well.

I'd suggest that you go to webhostingtalk forum though first, you'll find better, more relevant advice and info there tbh. Read a few threads and you'll see which ones to avoid

 

There are few VPS providers that allow proxy hosting and when you start getting some kind of traffic they start complaining about cpu usage and tell you to upgrade to buy one of their dedicated servers.

 

That's why it's a good idea to limit countries, don't allow those that don't make any money then those that do will pay for any needed upgrades. It's not fair no, but it is business.

No one here but for UncleP let me know that my proxy list site was not working correctly.
The problem was finally fixed.

When you go there, you will see the stats. Visitors and more important the average hits per proxy.
The proxies listed now are getting some decent traffic.

But do look at the paid options to have your proxy shown on top of all the free proxies.
Price right now is very cheap.

BTW is Spring Break pretty well over? Not that I have noticed much diff from traffic stats

 

Some advise please - I have google and yahoo groups with 40,000 members and currently only advertise my own sites. If I start doing mail blasts, how much do you think I should charge?

I thought max 5 blasts, $2 a blast...what do u think?

 

The total amount isn't important, it's the amount of active users. How many clicks does a #1 proxy on average get with your blast?

 

I am thinking about doing for free (with a submission to my proxy list) for a while to build up some feedback what do u think?

 

If you can move that 728x90 banner on your website over to the left a little I think it would look better. So that it pushed the Subscribe column down and is on top of the left hand column and main column. Would make it look way better just an fyi in my opinion.

 

You're losing potential money doing this, which isn't good for webmasters who create websites to earn money with. Have you thought about adding a free premium (shouldn't be top, but something) listing if they buy a spot in your email?

Things have changed now that Baron has +100K subscribers, but I remember that I sold blasts for around $1 first spot when I had 1000 members -- probably it's now just $0,50 or something per 1000 users. But it's "something"

 

I think some of the proxies shared here are really cool, i have been using them.
