Better to be 1st on page 2 or last on page 1?

1st page is always better but from a human perspective - I would prefer first at page 2.

 

Statisticaly speacking is Better on FIRST PAGE

 

I'd rather be on page 1, but, given the fact that search engine rankings fluctuate widely, and may even be different for searches in different regions, I think this is a largely hypothetical question.

I've noticed that for a given block of time, even as short as a single week, my search impressions tend to be partitioned between impressions with several different rankings. For example, the site might rank #3, #4, and #5 in a single week, with say 20% of the impressions #3, 50% #4, and 30% #5. This is true of nearly all my keywords.

So really, don't worry about it. Just work on organically improving your rankings and don't worry about an individual listing. It's going to bounce up and down from day to day anyway.

 

last of page 1 (rank 10) is better than first of page 2 (rank 11).
rank 10 is oe of the good place, it even better than rank8 or rank9

 

For me it's better to be in the last in the first page than first in the second page cause it means that you are in the top list of google.

Lol Page one is always better. Its been mentioned that people don't often click the last result on page 1 but lots of people also never even bother clicking page 2 so clearly page one is better

 

however, page one is better than page two

 

Any position on page 1 including bottom of the page will get more vistors than top of page 2 as someone else has mentioned people prefer as few clicks as possible,they also decide in the 1st 20-30 seconds if they stay on a site before going and finding another site that is pleasing to the eye and easy to use.

 

End of page 1. Think about it--people often go to the bottom to get to page 2 so they'll see your link on the way.

The less clicks are needed to find you, the better. I find that's also true on my own website for pages. People tend to visit the most visible ones first, and more often.

 

I have read the survey that be the first on page 2 will make your site have more traffic than te last on page 1.

 

Very insightful query . According to heatmaps of several of my clients sites I have come to this conclusion. First result on
first page has a CTR of approx 37%
second result has around 20

18% for the last result . Yes the last result is relatively more sought after (human tendency nothing else ) and the first result on second page has about 25 % CTR so first result on second page is better than last result on first page . Though this is relative data aggregated from some sites and cannot be taken as a final word since these are just observations.

 

to be honest it doesn't really matter, if you're not top 5, or better yet top 3, not a lot matters.

 

First page is definitely better, go for the last result! lol. I saw a 23% increase in hits on one of my sites moving from the top of page 2 to the bottom of page 1. Good stuff!

 

Of course it's better to be on the last of first page than in first in second page. Not all internet user will tend to visit the second when searching a specific product.

 

Be on first page number one or second page number one not the last position because according to some surveys the visitors click only the top 3 website titles often.

 

Logically it is better to be the last of the first page
but the human psyche is not always logical.
of course there are also different types of characters, some are assessed meticulously, while others are less precise.
Unconsciously, it is better to be the best of the worse Category instead of beeing the worst of the better category.
