What is BACKLINKS is all about?

Hello there.....guys im new into backlinks....i dont know the basics...please do share some hints and tips about it...thanks!

Incoming links to your website/blog are called backlinks.

 

All links from other websites are backlinks.

 

Sites that link to your site are call backlinks. If they contain keywords in the anchor text (The underlined part) they will help you rank higher for those search terms. Check out almost everyones signature, including mine, and you will see backlinks to the sites they promote. You should add links to your signature as soon as you can.

 

Clickable and dofollow links towards your site are called backlinks.

they need to be from different domains/ips to get you good results and rankings.

In very simple terms:
A backlink is a link from another website to your website. They are important in two way. Firstly, someone visits another site and sees your link. They click the link and arrive at your site. That backlink has given you some extra traffic.

Secondly and more importantly, each backlink counts as a vote for your site. The more votes you have, the higher your site moves up the search engine rankings. Each backlink that has your keyword in the anchor text of the link is a vote for your site for that search term. The more votes for that search term, the higher your site moves up the search engine rankings for that search term.

That's a very simple overview and there is a lot more to backlinks then I have put here. Some backlinks are worth more than others and some are worth virtually nothing at all. As you find out more about backlinks you will learn more about good and bad backlinks.
