important points on link exchange

Hi guys,

I wanted to know that what are the factors to keep in mind while doing link exchange, i mean what we look in the site after which we decide that whether our link will be placed on their site or not?

 

We should consider about relevency because the link put on relevent theme would only be benificial for seo pourpose.

 

According to me, First site relevance, Second near links for site link. and at last always prefer content link.

 

1. Check the Relevancy - Exchange links with the Relevant Sites. Relevancy is the most important factor in link building. More and more relevant backlinks you have, more chances you get for better rankings for your keyword in Search engines. Before exchanging links, check if the other website is relevant to your business or not?

2. Indexing of the link exchange page – There is no use if the partner’s site link exchange page is not yet index by major Search engines. You can check this through Google toolbar or the cache:www.sitename.com/links.html command in Google.

3. Go to better PR link – Its always better having a high PR link. So, try to exchange link with high PR link page. It will push your PR too!

There are a couple of important things to consider with link exchange programs/campaigns.

First, take care about the ratio between outbound and inbound links. If your outbound links are times your inbound, this is bad.

Second is the risk that your link exchange partners are link farms. If this is the case, you could even be banned from search engines, so it is too risky to indulge in link exchange programs.

 

I do not like this way, because indirectly it would reduce ours google ranking
I prefer one way backlinks

Page rank of the site
Meta tag,
Site is cache recently,
Outbound links of the site should not be too high
Theme of the site must be related to your website.
Site should not have any link from adult, porn or gambling site

 

Generally I dont do link exchange. But if you are doing link exchange following factors are important.
-Check the authority of the link partner.
-Check whether the partner is penalized by Google.
-Link Exchange with high PR pages
-Do link exchange will related sites
