Links in meta tag

    What is the impact with regard to SEO if we place links in the meta tag of the web site,

    I mean that will it helpful for you or this may damage your cause.

    I think will see like text so will not help you at all only if you want to obtain high ranking for that link

    I can not see the point of placing links in meta tag. It will not help you at all

    It is useless to place links in meta tags as it won't help your on page SEO on any way.

    Meta tag is used by search engines to allow them to more accurately list your site in their indexes. What is the use of placing link over there? This may also harm your present ranking.
