Hi! I have a question regarding the websites that it's better to use building a link wheel. As far as I know it is better to use the free website builders that allow you to acquire domains like yourdomain.weebly.com etc. But also I have come across on the internet that people advise to use such websites as http://knol.google.com, http://quizilla.teennick.com or http://www.gather.com/ However the link to the page where you put content usually has such format: http://quizilla.teennick.com/stories/... http://knol.google.com/k/username/... http://www.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=... So I am wondering if there any benefits of usage yourdomain.weebly.com rather than http://quizilla.teennick.com/stories/... ? Should I include websites that show my webpage as an internal folder of their websites into my link wheel or it doesn't matter - the main thing is to include backlinks?
Thanks for the advice, but please the full post, not only the title. Generally the list of websites for link wheel can be found on the internet, the matter that interests me is described in my first post.
It all depends on what article site you find to be the most effective really. Do you find yourself writing content for other people? That's the same way as creating a link wheel - you write for a blog, and get a free link - thus increasing your web appearence - and is one of the basic structures behind a link wheel

Thanks everyone for the opinion, probably I should ask my question again: Are there any advantages of using home page of the domain you own (example: yourdomain.weebly.com) rather than webpage that is an internal folder of a website (example: http://quizilla.teennick.com/stories/18334897/...)? Just like Google values edu. and gov. domains more than .com and .org, values domains of first level (e.g. yourdomain.com) more than domains of third level (e.g. yourdomain.weebly.com), does it value the backlinks from the home page of a domain of third level more than backlinks from the webpage that is located in internal subfolder of website? Or it doesn't matter - the main things is that you own a webpage that contains two backlinks - to your website and to the next web 2.0 website?
High page rank website are useful to work with link wheel. Like squidoo, hub pages, ezines article, article dashboard, Google knol, word press, blogger etc.
